Dr. Alexander Killion is a conservation scientist and strategist with extensive experience advancing biodiversity research, technology, and policy from local to global scales. As Managing Director at Yale’s Center for Biodiversity and Global Change, he leads data-driven initiatives that effectively bridge the gap between science and decision-making. His work spans developing remote sensing technologies for NASA, optimizing decision frameworks at Yale, and advising national governments on science, innovation, and environmental policy. Throughout his career, Dr. Killion has supported conservation efforts in more than 50 countries, building creative, cross- sector partnerships that align diverse stakeholders behind ambitious, outcome-driven goals. He brings proven expertise in accelerating innovation, recently co-leading the Map of Life Rapid Assessments team, which secured second place in the XPRIZE Rainforest competition.
